Framed pieces comprising of a preserved butterflies cut to create playing cards, part of a collection of work exploring the game of life and chance.

The red specimens used to create the two of hearts are Cymothoe Sangaris found primarily in central africa, the black specimens are Papilio Deiphobus found in Indonesia.

Many of my specimens come from historical collections, others through from breeding and conservation projects (read more here).
